Illustrations for the BIMM 'Soft Tissue Examination & Injection RoadShow’ workshops for general practitioners and GP registrars. The solution needed to be suitable for small and very large scale reproduction and detailed to the right degree so attendees could see the required detail in their workbooks and on projections so this was a very interesting problem to solve.
Trigger finger (left) and osteoarthritis of the basal thumb joint (right). Although the amount of realism required would be more easily obtainable by hand; Adobe Illustrator was used to create vector based illustrations that could be reproduced at any size without a loss of quality.
A bunion and Morton’s neuroma (left) and the plantar fascia for plantar fasciitis (right). The bones of the foot are complex. For these illustrations the designer modelled the bones in plasticine to allow their re-arrangement into different positions.
